Ukraine continues to denounce CIS agreements

MOSCOW. Dec 13 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government has approved withdrawal from the CIS agreement on cooperation in the provision of safety of hazardous industrial facilities.

The government made the decision at a meeting on Tuesday, Ukrainian media said, citing Government Representative in the Ukrainian Parliament Taras Melnichuk.

For instance, Ukraine has withdrawn from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) agreement on cooperation in the provision of safety of hazardous industrial facilities, signed in Moscow on September 28, 2001, and a protocol amending and augmenting this agreement.

The government proposes that the Ukrainian parliament approve the withdrawal from the CIS agreement on cooperation in evacuating nationals from third countries in emergencies, Melnichuk said.

In his words, the government approved a bill "On withdrawal from the CIS agreement on cooperation in evacuating nationals from third countries in emergencies," signed in Moscow on April 12, 1996, at a meeting on Tuesday.
