Russia ready to trade with unfriendly countries based on mutual interests - Prime Minister

MOSCOW. Dec 12 (Interfax) - Russia is ready for trade cooperation with partners from countries trying to restrain its development if it is on a constructive basis, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.

"By 2023, the share of friendly countries in terms of trade turnover may exceed the 90% mark. Thus, the role of those who are now trying to contain Russia will be reduced to a minimum. Of course, it would be wrong to completely break off cooperation with them," Mishustin said during the Strategy of Foreign Economic Activity strategic session.

Russia, he said, "has repeatedly emphasized that it will welcome all foreign partners who want to continue constructive interaction."

"We will apply a diversified approach to this group of countries, based primarily on our interests and the readiness of counterparties to work in new conditions, on the basis of mutual respect and consideration of each other's interests," he added.
