Ukrainian electric car market boosts 2.8 times in 11 months 2023 - Ukravtoprom

MOSCOW. Dec 12 (Interfax) - The number of initial registrations of new and used electric cars in Ukraine soared 2.8 times year-on-year to 33,000 electric cars in January-November 2023, with the share of new cars climbing to 20% from 17%, Ukrainian media reported, citing the Ukravtoprom association's website.

At the same time, the number of registrations almost tripled in November year-on-year to 4,316 electric cars (including 837 new and 3,479 used ones), but they dropped 4% compared to October 2023, the association said.

Electric passenger cars still account for the lion's share of registrations, 4,239 electric cars (827 new and 3,412 used ones), while only 10 out of 77 commercial electric cars were new.

The top 5 new electric cars on the market in November included Volkswagen ID.4 with 297 electric cars, followed by Toyota BZ4X with 64 electric cars; BYD Song with 55 electric cars, Honda E with 50 electric cars and Volkswagen ID.6 with 48 electric cars.

The top five leaders among electric used cars were Nissan Leaf with 515 electric cars, followed by Tesla Model 3 with 385; Volkswagen e-Golf with 355; Tesla Model Y with 284, and AUDI E-Tron with 201.

As reported, Ukrainians purchased 13,600 new and used electric cars, which is 1.5 times more than a year earlier, while the share of new ones went up to 17% from 14% in 2022, Ukravtoprom said.
