Volvo's former Russian plant in Kaluga to launch production Dec 14 - authorities
KALUGA. Dec 12 (Interfax) - JSC Automobile Motor Association (AMO), part of the Industrial Investments Group, and new owner of the former Volvo plant in Kaluga, plans to launch a production line on Thursday, December 14, the regional government reported.
The Industrial Investments Group closed the deal to purchase the former Volvo Trucks plant in Russia on November 23, 2023. The company has already begun temporary assembly of a large-capacity Russian off-road truck.
Industrial Investments is a recently created group of companies that unites developers and manufacturers in the market of road construction, agricultural and special machines, as well as a network of service centers in Russia's regions. The group, in addition to AMO, includes the UMG brand of road construction equipment (SDM LLC, formerly part of the United Machine-Building Group), a new metallurgical business in Nizhny Novgorod, Casting and Forgings LLC, and the Spetstekhnika Leasing Company in Moscow.
The Unified State Register of Legal Entities shows that the parent company of the group, Industrial Investments JSC, with a charter capital of 200,000 rubles, was registered in Moscow in May 2023. The owners of the company are not disclosed in the entry. Its general director is Andrei Alexandrov. Previously, he held key positions in large Russian and international companies, including in the structure of United Machine-Building Group.
