Russia intends to produce at least 550,000 tonnes of low-carbon hydrogen by 2030, more than 40 projects are in development

DUBAI. Dec 11 (Interfax) - The "Hydrogen" strategic initiative envisages that production of low-carbon hydrogen in Russia by 2030 will total at least 550,000 tonnes per year, Ilya Torosov, Russian First Deputy Economic Development Minister, said during the UN Climate Change Conference (COP28).

There are more than 40 projects in development at the moment, he said, localized in Siberia, the North-Western Federal District and the Far East.

The deputy minister also recalled Russia's plans to claim a fifth of the global hydrogen energy market by 2030.
