Slovak truckers to resume blockade of Vysne Nemecke-Uzhgorod border crossing to Ukrainian trucks

MOSCOW. Dec 11 (Interfax) - The Slovak union of truckers, UNAS, has announced its decision to resume the blockade of the Vysne Nemecke-Uzhgorod crossing on the Slovak side of the border with Ukraine starting Monday, December 11, Ukrainian media have reported with reference to UNAS's statement on its social account.

"UNAS has decided to continue the protest on the Vysne Nemecke-Uzhgorod border crossing starting 3:00 p.m. on December 11, 2023 until further notice," it said.

The truckers warned that they would "block entry to Slovakia's territory to truck transport. Private transport will not be restricted."

"The board has made this decision after assessing information it has been receiving and its influence on the automobile transport market. We are joining the protests organized in Poland since November 6, 2023 and in Hungary since December 11, 2023," UNAS said.
