Erdogan calls France's dispatch of personnel carriers to Armenia provocation

ISTANBUL. Dec 8 (Interfax) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has criticized France's dispatch of armored personnel carriers to Armenia, describing it as a "provocation" and claimed that through this Paris only causes harm to Yerevan, Anadolu Agency said.

"This is a provocation. France should know that by so doing it does not help but does Armenia harm," Erdogan told reporters on Friday.

"It is in Armenia's interests to seize the opportunity to establish peace and avoid getting into a trap [laid by] the countries that mislead it," he said.

Normalization of relations with Azerbaijan is the best option for Armenia, Erdogan said.

Erdogan expressed confidence that the countries that are arming Armenia today will soon "leave it on its own," Anadolu said.
