Former Russian Volvo plant to officially start production in coming days - governor

KALUGA. Dec 7 (Interfax) - Kaluga's Automobile Motor Society JSC (AMO), a former Volvo plant, and part of the Industrial Investments Group, will officially launch production in the coming days, governor of the Kaluga region, Vladislav Shapsha said.

"We are preparing for a most important event - the start of truck production at the AMO company's Kaluga plant. Final preparations are underway," Shapsha posted on his Telegram channel.

As reported, the Industrial Investments Group closed the deal to purchase the former Volvo Trucks plant in Russia on November 23, 2023. The company has already begun temporary assembly of a Russian-made large-capacity off-road truck.
