Azerbaijani-Armenian FM talks planned in Washington - U.S. State Dept rep

BAKU. Dec 7 (Interfax) - U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken hopes for the soonest arrangement of talks between the Azerbaijani and Armenian foreign ministers in Washington, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James O'Brien said on Thursday.

He described the meetings held in Baku on Wednesday as positive and constructive.

"Had positive and constructive meetings in Baku. As I told President Aliyev, the U.S. welcomes visits by the Central Bank governor and energy minister, and Secretary Blinken looks forward to hosting foreign ministers [Jeyhun] Bayramov [of Azerbaijan] and [Ararat] Mirzoyan [of Armenia] in Washington soon for peace negotiations," O'Brien said on the X social network (formerly known as Twitter) on Thursday.

As reported, O'Brien held talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on Wednesday.
