Japan to provide another $1 bln in financial support for Ukraine - Zelensky

MOSCOW. Dec 7 (Interfax) - Japan will provide Ukraine with another $1 billion in financial support and is prepared to bring the total amount of such aid to $4.5 billion, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said.

"I am grateful to Japan and Prime Minister [Fumio] Kishida for the decision to provide an additional $1 billion in assistance to Ukraine, as well as their readiness to further increase the total to $4.5 billion," Ukrainian media quoted Zelensky as saying on his social account on Thursday.

"This is significant support for the recovery of Ukraine and our economy," he said.

"Japan stands firmly with Ukraine," he said.
