CEC chair favors 3-day voting at Russian presidential election

MOSCOW. Dec 7 (Interfax) - Russian Central Elections Commission (CEC) Chair Ella Pamfilova said she favors multi-day voting at Russia's presidential election as it broadens opportunities for voters.

"Surely, yes. We know how much people liked exactly this form of voting. There are more opportunities for people to plan their time [...], it broadens the electoral capabilities of our citizens," Pamfilova told reporters on Thursday after being asked whether she supports this voting format.

The CEC will consider a draft decree on holding voting at Russia's upcoming presidential election over three days - on March 15, 16 and 17 - at its meeting on December 8, Pamfilova said earlier.

The Federation Council adopted a resolution at its session on Thursday to schedule the Russian presidential election for March 17.
