RM Rail plant in Khakassia investing 70 mln rubles in production of sea containers

TOMSK. Dec 5 (Interfax) - RM Rail Abakanvagonmash (Khakassia, part of the RM Rail holding) will allocate 70 million rubles to expand production of a wide range of sea containers, the RM Rail press service reports.

The report says that 50 million rubles were provided by the Industrial Development Fund (IDF) of Khakassia, and another 20 million rubles were the company's own funds.

"Sea containers are one of the most popular types of products in the RM Rail Abakanvagonmash range. Equipment for procurement, machining, assembly and welding production and paint coating will be purchased using money from the preferential loan from the Federal Investment Fund," the statement says.

As part of its project to expand production, RM Rail Abakanvagonmash plans to increase production of universal and specialized sea containers to 2,410 units by the end of 2024, and up to 2,900 units annually by the end of 2025 through 2028.

Abakanvagonmash specializes in the production of universal containers; the design capacity is 8,000 universal and special containers per year.

RM Rail is an integrated manufacturer of specialized full-cycle freight rolling stock for railways. Its main enterprises are: Ruzkhimmash, VKM-Steel, RM Rail Abakanvagonmash, Neon, VKM-Service, RM Rail RVS and RM Rail Engineering. The enterprises are located in the republics of Mordovia and Khakassia.
