Two units, 2 buildings of Ukrainian TPPs placed under short-term repair, while reserves meet all electricity needs - Energy Ministry

MOSCOW. Dec 4 (Interfax) - Two units and two buildings of Ukrainian thermal power plants (TPPs) have been placed under short-term repair, instead one unit at the TPP has been additionally switched on from the reserve, and two more buildings of TPPs will be reconnected throughout the day, Ukrainian media reported, citing the Energy Ministry as saying on social media.

The reserve capacity provides the required electricity output, which is enough to cover all needs, it said.

The energy system is balanced. Restrictions are not applied in any of the regions. The power outages are caused by bad weather, the Energy Ministry said.

Electricity is not exported, as it has been for the past few days, the ministry said. Electricity imports, mainly from Poland, totaled 892 MWh on Sunday. On Monday, only 62 MWh is imported from Slovakia, the ENTSO-E website said.

As reported, as of Monday morning, 145 communities remained without electricity due to inclement weather.
