Total of 565 Ukrainian communities remain without electricity, including 145 due to bad weather - Energy Ministry

MOSCOW. Dec 4 (Interfax) - In total, 145 communities remain without power supply throughout Ukraine due to inclement weather, Ukrainian media reported, citing the Energy Ministry's statement published on social media on Monday morning.

Most consumers who were cut off from electricity for this reason over the weekend have been reconnected to the power grid. Emergency restoration teams continue to work in an intensified regime.

The most complicated situation remains in the Lvov region, where 134 communities or 9,700 consumers are de-energized due to icing of overhead lines.

At the same time, 420 communities are cut off from electricity due to technological failures, the ministry said. Thus, 565 communities throughout the country are blacked out. At the same time, scheduled power outages of consumers are not applied.

As reported, 497 communities in western regions were left without power supply due to foul weather, the Energy Ministry said in the morning of December 2. In particular, 305 communities were de-energized in the Lvov region.
