QazaqGaz, Presight plan pilot project to improve gas accounting transparency using AI in Kazakhstan

ALMATY. Dec 4 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan's QazaqGaz and Presight of the United Arab Emirates have signed a cooperation agreement on digital transformation in Kazakhstan's gas industry, QazaqGaz said in a press release.

"This is a strategic step which will help us increase the transparency of our gas accounting methodology, improve the efficiency of the management practices and reduce losses in the gas transportation system. As part of the signed agreement, we will carry out a pilot project aimed at increasing the transparency of the gas accounting methods," the press release says.

QazaqGaz and Presight are also mulling over the introduction of a billing system to make contacts between the customers and the gas company more effective.

After completion of the pilot project, solutions found may be applied to all gas pipelines and gas supply systems in Kazakhstan, according to the press release.

The agreement was signed by QazaqGaz CEO Sanzhar Zharkeshov and Presight CEO Thomas Pramotedham during the COP28 World Climate Summit in Dubai, which was attended by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Presight, an ADX-listed public company limited by shares whose majority shareholder is Abu Dhabi company G42, is a big data analytics company powered by artificial intelligence.
