NOVATEK establishes Murmansk LNG LLC
SALEKHARD. Dec 4 (Interfax) - Novatek subsidiaries Novatek Tarkosaleneftegaz LLC and Novatek Moscow Region LLC have established a new company, Murmansk LNG LLC, the Unified State Register of Legal Entities shows.
The new structure was registered on December 1 in Murmansk, with charter capital of 100 million rubles, 99% belonging to Tarkosaleneftegaz, and 1% to Novatek Moscow Region.
The main activity is the production of hydrocarbons and their derivatives. Dmitry Anishchenko was appointed general director. He also heads another Novatek subsidiary, Novatek Ust-Luga LLC.
"Murmansk LNG Limited Liability Company" is the company's official name in English.
As reported, Novatek is exploring the possibility of building a new large-scale LNG project in the Murmansk region, consisting of three liquefaction lines with a capacity of 6.8 million tonnes. Surplus resources from the Kola Nuclear Power Plant will be used to power the compressors of the LNG plant, while it will be necessary to build a 1,300-kilometer gas pipeline to supply gas to Murmansk.
In October, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak stated that the decision to implement the 20-million tonne Novatek Murmansk LNG project for had been made.
