Abrau-Durso investing around $4 mln to produce beverages in India

MOSCOW. Dec 4 (Interfax) - Abrau-Durso , a leading producer of sparkling wine in Russia, is investing around $4 million to produce low-alcohol beverages in India, thus the group of companies recently created a joint venture, Abrau-Durso president Pavel Titov told Interfax.

"We plan to work actively in the fast-growing Indian market. Together with local partners, we will improve the existing production near New Delhi. In the created joint venture, 51% of the shares belong to Abrau-Durso, and investment should total around $4 million," Titov said.

According to Titov, the main product of future production will be low-alcohol carbonated beverages in ready-to-drink format, both in cans and bottles. "The main goal for the first phase of the project is to reach six million liters per year by 2026," Titov said.
