Rosatom's Likhachev, IAEA's Grossi agree on full-scale consultations in early 2024 - Rosatom
MOSCOW. Dec 4 (Interfax) - Rosatom CEO Alexei Likhachev and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi have agreed to hold full-scale consultations in the beginning of 2024, the press service for the Russian state-owned corporation said on Saturday.
Likhachev and Grossi held a meeting on the sidelines of the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference in Dubai on December 2 and discussed issues dealing with ensuring nuclear security of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant.
"The parties agreed to hold full-scale consultations in January-February 2024," the Rosatom press service said following the meeting.
In addition, the Rosatom CEO voiced support to the IAEA's activities to promote "the peaceful atom" as a sustainable energy source and expressed readiness to continue working together on this track.
"Russia has joined the Statement of the agency and a group of countries on the role of nuclear energy in the climate agenda," the press service said.
