Baku sees no impediments to signing peace agreement with Yerevan - parliament speaker

BAKU. Dec 1 (Interfax) - Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Sahiba Gafarova has declared Baku's readiness for further peace talks with Yerevan.

"Azerbaijan is ready to continue negotiations [with Armenia] to sign a peace agreement. There are no impediments to signing a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia," Gafarova said at a meeting with German Parliament Speaker Barbel Bas in Berlin, as quoted by the parliament press service.

"Azerbaijan is ready for peace with Armenia based on the recognition of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of both countries," she said.

Gafarova briefed Bas on the reconstruction of the freed territories and the mine threat that slows down this process.
