CPC resumes oil shipments from two single point moorings after bad weather halted operations; damaged third SPM taken out of service

MOSCOW. Nov 30 (Interfax) - The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) on Thursday resumed oil shipments at its marine terminal after bad weather brought these to a halt, the CPC said in a statement.

"Oil loading at the marine terminal is being carried out as usual via the SPM-1 and SPM-2 [single point moorings]," it said.

An inspection of the moorings revealed damage to the outer sleeve of an SPM-3 hose, it said.

"SPM-3 has been taken out of service in connection with this. There is no oil spill, there are no conditions for an emergency situation, no danger to the population and Black Sea flora and fauna. Damaged sections of SPM-3 floating hoses will be replaced from available spare ones parts, given favorable weather conditions," the consortium said.
