Roboavia plans to start producing drones for civilian use in Rostov region in 2024 - Governor

ROSTOV-ON-DON. Nov 30 (Interfax) - Developer and manufacturer of civilian drones Roboavia plans to complete construction of a plant in the Rostov region and start production by the end of 2024, Rostov region Governor Vasily Golubev said in an interview with Interfax.

"Construction of the enterprise has begun. The period for project implementation and reaching design capacity is the end of 2024," Golubev said.

In November, an industry-specific regional program for the development of unmanned aerial systems in the Rostov region through 2030 was approved as part of a national project for the development of UAVs, he said.

As reported, Roboavia LLC plans to invest about 500 million rubles in the creation of this production site. It is planned to launch production of 1,100 UAVs per year. After completion of construction, the enterprise will create 200 new jobs at the first stage, and 500 new jobs at subsequent stages.

The Roboavia website says that the devices are used for aerial photography, as well as for monitoring agricultural sowing and harvesting, road conditions, environmental zones and other activities. The drones are equipped with electric motors, can fly for up to 4 hours and move at speeds of 63-108 km/h. Their take-off weight is 14 kg.

The Unified State Register of Legal Entities shows that Roboavia LLC is controlled by former general director of the company Lyudmila Gurova, who owns 90% of the shares.

Roboavia's revenue in 2022 was 29.1 million rubles with a net loss of 64.3 million rubles.
