Russian, Armenian FMs meet behind closed doors on OSCE Ministerial Council sidelines

SKOPJE. Nov 30 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan are meeting on the sidelines of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Ministerial Council in Skopje, North Macedonia.

Lavrov and Mirzoyan are meeting without members of the press present, an Interfax correspondent reported.

Lavrov and Mirzoyan "had a brief conversation," during which they "discussed relevant aspects of the bilateral agenda, as well as interaction on international platforms and within common integrational associations," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Lavrov and Mirzoyan "exchanged opinions on regional problems. The Russian side reiterated its willingness to actively facilitate progress in the Armenian-Azerbaijani normalization process based on the set of trilateral agreements between the Russian, Azerbaijani, and Armenian leaders of 2020-2022, including steps toward concluding a peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku," it said.

The parties also "reaffirmed the necessity of further contacts at different levels," it said.
