Uzbek president to attend UN Climate Change Conference

TASHKENT. Nov 30 (Interfax) - Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a working visit to the United Arab Emirates on November 30-December 2 to attend the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP28, the presidential press service said on Thursday.

"President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit the city of Dubai on November 30-December 2 at the invitation of President of United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to take part in the United Nations Climate Change Conference," the press service said.

The COP28 agenda includes issues concerning the fulfillment of the main provisions of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, steps to counter present-day environmental challenges and threats, and broad international cooperation to advance the goals and objectives of green development, it said.

"The head of our state is expected to deliver a report at the summit's plenary session and to hold a series of bilateral meetings and talks," the press service said.
