Storm death toll in Ukraine reaches 12

MOSCOW. Nov 29 (Interfax) - Twelve people have been killed and 23 others, including two children, have been injured by the storm, Ukrainian media have reported citing Interior Minister Igor Klimenko.

"Since November 26, teams of the State Service for Emergency Situations have towed away about 2,000 vehicles, including 31 buses and 33 ambulances. Aid has been provided to over 4,000 citizens, including 226 children," Klimenko said on social media on Wednesday.

As many as 521 communities in 11 regions across Ukraine are still cut off from power supply, he said.

Emergencies service and police units are working overtime to clean up the storm aftermath, Klimenko said. Most public roads are currently open to traffic.

"Several roads in the Nikolayev, Odessa, and Kirovograd regions have been blocked to traffic," Klimenko said.
