Ukraine sows almost 6 mln ha of winter crops by Nov 28

MOSCOW. Nov 28 (Interfax) - The area sown with winter crops in Ukraine as of November 28 is 5.96 million hectares, 0.2 million hectares more than the week before, and 0.46 million hectares (8.4%) more than at the same time in 2022, Ukrainian media reported, citing a report from the Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry.

In total, over 4.8 million hectares are sown with winter grains, including 4.162 million hectares of wheat, 559,000 hectares of barley, and 77,200 hectares of rye. Winter rapeseed is sown on 1.164 million hectares of land.

A survey conducted earlier by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy showed that the vast majority of farmers do not plan to significantly change the area under winter crops compared to last season.
