Russian PM dismisses Deputy Transport Minister Igor Chalik

MOSCOW. Nov 28 (Interfax) - Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has signed an order to dismiss Deputy Transport Minister Igor Chalik due to the expiration of his contract, the November 27 order, posted on the official website for legal information, said.

Transport industry sources told Interfax earlier this month that Chalik, who oversees the aviation sector at the ministry, might soon leave his position. The ministry's press service later said that Chalik plans to move to a different position "in the system of Russia's transport sector."

Chalik was appointed deputy transport minister in January 2021, prior to which he served as deputy CEO and flight director at Russian flag carrier Aeroflot for about ten years. Chalik was appointed to the ministry soon after former Aeroflot CEO Vitaly Savelyev was appointed transport minister.
