Polish protesters urging govt to control origin of capitals of carriers from Ukraine, Belarus, Russia

MOSCOW. Nov 27 (Interfax) - Polish truck drivers blocking the Ukrainian border for trucks will demand that the new Polish government control the origin of capitals of the transport companies that were established or are being established in Poland with founders from Ukraine, Belarus and Russia, protesters' leader Rafal Mekler said.

"Since there is no government yet, we do not put forward the third demand of the protest very often. [...] It's about controlling the origin of capital of those companies which were established by our neighbors from Belarus, Ukraine, and Russia," Ukrainian media reported, quoting Mekler as saying on social media.

The protesters will demand that the companies that cannot prove the origin of their capital from legal sources be inspected and shut down, he said.

As reported, trucks are standing in lines stretching for up to 40 kilometers in front of the blocked checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Polish border from the Polish side, the Yagodin-Dorohusk, Krakovets-Korczowa and Rava-Russkaya-Hrebenne border checkpoints, due to the Polish truck drivers' protest, which started on November 6.

Ukrainian negotiators expect a decision on unblocking the border to be reached after a new Polish government is appointed following the recent elections that is expected by mid-December.
