Russian Justice Ministry adds Russia's former PM Kasyanov to foreign agent list

MOSCOW. Nov 24 (Interfax) - The Russian Justice Ministry has given Russia's former Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov foreign agent status, the ministry said on its website on Friday.

"Kasyanov took part in the creation and dissemination to an indefinite range of persons of reports and materials of foreign agents, disseminated false information on decisions made by Russian bodies of public authority and their policies," it said

Kasyanov, who left Russia last year, also "spoke against the special military operation in Ukraine and was a respondent on information websites provided by foreign entities," the ministry said.

"Along with the persons included in the foreign agents register, [Kasyanov] is a member of the Anti-War Committee of Russia, an association whose work is aimed at discrediting Russia's foreign and domestic policy," the ministry said.

Besides Kasyanov, foreign agent status was given to historian Ilya Venyavkin and journalists Ilya Davlyatchin and Idris Yusupov.
