Ukrainian PM, EC vice-president discuss Ukrainian national budget deficit funding

MOSCOW. Nov 23 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal has discussed the financing of the country's national budget deficit with European Commission Executive Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis.

"The main subject is the funding of the budget deficit. On Wednesday, the EU provided the next tranche of macro-financial assistance totaling 1.5 billion euros. The total budget support amounted to 16.5 billion euros this year. We discussed Ukraine's needs for the next year and joint work on Ukraine Facility, a four-year program of 50 billion euros," Ukrainian media reported, quoting Shmygal as saying on the social media following the online conversation.

"We focused on the situation on the Ukrainian border with a number of EU countries," Shmygal said. "We are urgently establishing alternative logistics routes. I voiced our proposals. We are counting on the European Commission assistance in solving the problem," he said.
