Japarov, Lukashenko discuss Kyrgyzstan-Belarus cooperation

BISHKEK. Nov 23 (Interfax) - Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has held talks on topical issues of cooperation with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko, the Kyrgyz presidential press service said on Thursday.

"Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov met with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk," the press service said.

The two leaders discussed topical issues and prospects of bilateral cooperation, as well as the agenda of the upcoming session of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), it said.

"Sadyr Japarov and Alexander Lukashenko expressed their readiness to step up interaction between Kyrgyzstan and Belarus in the interests of the two countries' peoples," the statement said.

Japarov arrived in Minsk the day before on a working visit to take part in a regular session of the CSTO Collective Security Council.
