Belarus supports priorities of CSTO Kazakh presidency in 2024

MINSK. Nov 23 (Interfax) - Belarus supports and will give the utmost assistance to the Kazakh presidency at the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik told reporters on Wednesday.

"Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu briefed today's meeting on the priorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan's presidency at the CSTO in 2024. We support them and will give the utmost assistance to their implementation," the Belarusian state-run media outlet SB. Belarus Segodya quoted Aleinik as saying.

A number of Belarusian priorities are long-term, Aleinik said. "Hopefully, they will be reflected in the work program of the future presidencies," he said.

The CSTO comprises Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Belarus presides at the CSTO in 2023, and Kazakhstan will take up the presidency in 2024.
