Ukrainian farmers harvest 29 mln tonnes of vegetables, including 21.2 mln tonnes of potatoes

MOSCOW. Nov 22 (Interfax) - Ukrainian farmers, as of the beginning of November 2023, have harvested nearly 29 million tonnes of vegetables, including 21.2 million tonnes of potatoes, Ukrainian media reported, citing the country's Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food.

Potatoes were harvested from an area of 1.183 million hectares, while other vegetables were collected from 367,600 hectares.

In total, 1.4 million tonnes of tomatoes, 1.3 million tonnes of cabbage, 877,000 tonnes of onions, 810,000 tonnes of carrots, 766,000 tonnes of beets, 681,000 tonnes of cucumbers and over 1.3 million tonnes of other vegetables were harvested.

Melon crops were harvested from an area of 29,800 hectares with gross production of 283,000 tonnes, including 214,000 tonnes of watermelons, and 69,000 tonnes of melons.
