Vietnam's TH Group looking to open dairy plant in Kaluga Region in 2024 - authorities

KALUGA. Nov 22 (Interfax) - Vietnamese TH Group plans to commission a milk processing plant in the Kaluga region in 2024, the region's governor Vladislav Shapsha said.

"The company has three projects in the Kaluga region. Two livestock complexes and a milk processing plant. One farm is already operating; the second is at the startup stage. The dairy plant should open next year," Shapsha wrote on his Telegram channel following a meeting with the President of the Vietnamese concern, Thai Huong.

TH also plans to launch the second stage of an existing dairy farm in the Ulyanovsk region and double the livestock to 6,000 cows, he said. This is the company's first farm in the region and was commissioned at the end of 2022.

"We also discussed prospects for cooperation in other areas where TH Group has experience, including pharmaceuticals," the governor noted.

It was previously reported that the first stage of the dairy plant in the Kaluga region (investment of $155 million) was supposed to be launched in 2019, and reach full capacity by 2021. The reasons why the project was delayed were not specified.

TH Group is a large producer of dairy products in Vietnam.
