Energy Ministry: lifting of ban on export of summer diesel under discussion, no such discussion for winter diesel so far
MOSCOW. Nov 21 (Interfax) - The Russian government is discussing the possibility of lifting the ban on the export of summer diesel fuel, Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov told reporters.
"There is no question of completely lifting the ban on the export of oil products - we are not planning to lift the ban on winter diesel fuel. As for summer diesel, the issue is being resolved," he said.
Shulginov also commented on the results of the increase in export duties on almost all types of petroleum products - from 20 to 50,000 rubles per tonne, which is considered a barrier.
"The barrier duty for non-producers on petroleum products is in effect. If it were not in force, there would be no appeals from various companies to be excluded from this list," he noted.
