Five power units of TPPs placed under emergency repair in Ukraine over past 24 hours - Ukrenergo

MOSCOW. Nov 21 (Interfax) - Five power units at the thermal power plants have been placed under emergency repair in various Ukrainian regions over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian media reported citing Ukrenergo's message on social media.

"Despite the shutdown of power units, electricity produced by the Ukrainian power plants is enough to supply all household and legal consumers. Consumption limits have not been set," Ukrenergo said.

For various reasons 423 communities remain without electricity, in particular, for technological reasons there are consumers de-energized in the Sumy region and in the Kiev-controlled part of the Zaporozhye region. Six communities in the Dnepropetrovsk and Poltava regions, as well as in the Kiev-controlled part of the Donetsk region, are de-energized due to inclement weather as of this morning.

The power engineers have restored power supply to more than 500 consumers in Kherson and 11,900 consumers in the Kiev-controlled part of the region over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian media reported, citing the Energy Ministry. However, over 32,000 consumers remain de-energized there.

The electricity exports surged 4.5 times to 900 MWh on Tuesday compared to Monday, and going to Slovakia and Romania at night (the period of daily lowest consumption), the system operator said.

At the same time, the electricity import declined from 970 MWh on Monday to 860 MWh on Tuesday and is provided from Slovakia, Romania and Moldova in the evening hours.
