Evacuation of remaining Russians and their family members from Gaza expected to be completed in coming days - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Nov 20 (Interfax) - Five hundred twenty-five Russian citizens have already been brought to Russia from Gaza, and the remaining people are expected to be evacuated in the coming days, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"A total of 561 people were evacuated from the Gaza Strip through the Rafah checkpoint. Of these people, 525 were brought to Russia on Russian Emergency Situations Ministry planes," the ministry said in a statement on Monday.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the fifth group of Russians and their family members evacuated from Gaza (Palestinians, citizens of Ukraine and Sweden) arrived in Moscow from Cairo on a special Emergency Situations Ministry flight in the early hours of November 20.

"The coordinated work of the Foreign Ministry, the Emergency Situations Ministry and other relevant agencies, our diplomatic missions in Cairo, Tel Aviv, and Doha, continues. It is planned to take the remaining Russian citizens and their family members from the conflict zone in the coming days," the statement said.
