Belarus plans to start buying Russian-made planes after 2026 - transport minister

MINSK. Nov 20 (Interfax) - Belarus plans to start buying Russian-made planes after 2026, Belarusian Transport and Communications Minister Alexei Lyakhnovich said on the state-run television channel Belarus 1 on Saturday.

"We are considering the purchase of a Russian-made plane. Unfortunately, we cannot buy it now for obvious reasons, [as] there is no purely Russian-made plane on the market. So, we are working with the Russian side to be pushed forward a little when the plane becomes available," Lyakhnovich said.

"Most likely, that will happen after 2026," he said.
