JTI appoints former sales director Solomakhin to head Rostov tobacco factory
ROSTOV-ON-DON. Nov 17 (Interfax) - Alexander Solomakhin has been appointed director of JTI Donskoy Tabak, the Rostov division of Japan Tobacco International (JTI), effective November 15, data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (USRLE) showed.
JTI Russia's press service told Interfax that Solomakhin was previously the company's director of sales for the South.
"Alexander Solomakhin has worked at the company for about 20 years. In November 2023 he became head of JTI Donskoy Tabak and soon he will become head of JSC Pereslavl Tabak," a company spokesman said.
JTI Donskoy Tabak was previously headed by Sergei Lavrikov, who is currently director of the Pereslavl Tabak tobacco factory, according to the USRLE.
Lavrikov "continues to work at JTI in the area of supply chain management," the spokesman said.
Pereslavl Tabak changed its registration address from Pereslavl-Zalessky, Yaroslavl Region to Rostov as of October 24, the USRLE showed.
"These structural changes were made as part of a standard review of the company's business processes," the spokesman said.
JTI closed the acquisition of JSC Donskoy Tabak, which was previously part of Agrokom Group, in 2018 and completed its merger with JTI Russia LLC in December 2021. After the reorganization, production at the Rostov factory was taken over by JTI Donskoy Tabak LLC.
JTI Russia, a subsidiary of Japan Tobacco International, is the largest producer of tobacco products in Russia.
