Putin, Russian business reps discuss re-domiciliation, investment attractiveness at Wed meeting - Peskov

MOSCOW. Nov 16 (Interfax) - President Vladimir Putin met with Russian business representatives on Wednesday to discuss re-domiciliation and boosting Russia's investment attractiveness, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"Indeed, the president met with big business yesterday. The dialogue was substantive and the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs formulated a number of questions," Peskov said, adding that certain business representatives and the government's members in charge of economy had a chance to take the floor at the meeting.

"Possible steps to boost the investment attractiveness of our economy were discussed," he said.

"The formation of more competitive conditions to complete the process of companies' relocation, re-domiciliation here [to Russia] was considered, as well," Peskov said.

The issue "was high on the agenda," he said

"The overwhelming number of entrepreneurs, who attended [the meeting], have experienced unlawful treatment abroad, so the process of business relocation to the Russian jurisdiction by all mechanisms available has been active," Peskov said.

The re-domiciliation process "should be absolutely perfect, so that businesses have no problems and bring their companies here, create jobs, open new enterprises, invest and makes money here, in the home country," he said.

This is what businesses were largely talking about, Peskov said.
