Ukraine's EFI mulls to invest $25 mln in agri-processing plant

MOSCOW. Nov 14 (Interfax) - Ukrainian investment company EFI Group plans to start building an agri-processing plant in Cherkassy region in 2024, Ukrainian media reported, citing the group's press service.

EFI Group has signed a memorandum on cooperation to this effect with the regional authorities.

"Next year already we will proceed to planning, design and implementation of the construction of a huge production complex," EFI Group founder Igor Liski said on social media, adding that investment in the project will total $25 million.

It was reported earlier that EFI Group planned to set up two new businesses and build an industrial park in Cherkassy region. One of the future businesses will operate in the agri-processing sector and the other in the infrastructure sector, the company said. EFI said at the time that it was considering raising $230 million-$250 million of financing.

EFI Group, founded in 2007 by businessman Igor Liski, invests in the paper, food and wood processing industries, healthcare and medtech and distribution of agricultural products. The group includes Feednova, a producer of animal fats and feed additives for animals; a chain of healthcare centers and an online medical hub; a cardboard packaging plant; a lumber mill; and an agricultural product distributor.
