Russian, Senegalese presidents discuss broader cooperation, Gaza situation

MOSCOW. Nov 13 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Senegalese counterpart Macky Sall have held a phone conversation at Senegal's initiative, the Kremlin press service said.

"As a follow-up to the contacts held as part of the second Russia-Africa Summit in St. Petersburg, the parties discussed key issues of Russian-Senegalese cooperation, including the prospects for the further development of trade, economic and investment ties. They expressed their mutual commitment to intensifying joint work in this field," the press service said.

Putin and Sall "also held an exchange of views in light of the sharp escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the current dire humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip," it said.

"They agreed that discussions on all the issues that were touched on would continue via various bilateral channels," the press service said.
