Turkey ready to facilitate lifting of sanctions on Belarusian potash fertilizers - Belarusian FM

MINSK. Nov 13 (Interfax) - Turkey will work on lifting sanctions on Belarusian potash fertilizers, Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik said on Sunday.

"Turkey has fully reaffirmed its readiness to facilitate the lifting of restrictions on potash fertilizers, which are the foundation of food and agricultural security, especially in countries of the Global South," Aleinik said on the state-run television channel ONT.

"We have confirmed our readiness to further promote this topic on global platforms and for further cooperation in a bilateral format. The fact is that Belarus meets 80% of Turkish demand for fertilizers," Aleinik said.

Currently, EU sectoral sanctions are in effect against Belarusian potash fertilizers, alongside EU and U.S. sanctions against Belaruskali and its trader Belarusian Potash Company (BPC).
