Ukraine changes rules for agricultural exports as of Nov 11

MOSCOW. Nov 13 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry has approved a list of verified exporters that includes 735 Ukrainian agricultural enterprises, Ukrainian media reported, citing a statement from the ministry.

The Ukrainian government decided earlier that only businesses on the list of verified exporters will be able to export the country's main agricultural export commodities - wheat, corn, barley, soybeans, sunflower seeds, rapeseed and their processed products.

Exports under the new rules began on November 11. Previously 5,000 businesses exported these commodities from Ukraine.

Agrarian Policy Minister Nikolai Solsky said in the press release that the State Agrarian Registry is continuing to accept applications for agribusinesses to be included in the list of verified exporters.

More than 1,000 applications for inclusion in the list have been received. To be included in the list, companies must meet a number of criteria, such as be a payer of the value-added tax and comply with currency legislation, meaning repatriate foreign currency earnings in a timely manner.
