Aid packages for Ukraine getting smaller - U.S. Department of Defense

MOSCOW. Nov 10 (Interfax) - The U.S. government will continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine, but its size will be reduced, Department of Defense spokesperson Sabrina Singh said.

"We're going to continue to roll out packages, they just are getting smaller. That's because since Congress did not pass our initial supplemental request. So we really implore Congress to pass the supplemental request that the president sent up so that we can continue to meet Ukraine's battlefield needs," Ukrainian media quoted Singh as saying at a press briefing.

The U.S. has used 95% of the initial $62.3 billion allocated for Ukraine, so the U.S. only has $1 billion left in existing resources, she said.

Ukraine also counts on support from other countries, Singh said.

"We just had a Contact Group last month. We are going to have another Ukraine Defense Contact Group in mid-November," she said.
