Poland's PSE again provides emergency aid to Ukraine by buying 510 MWh of surplus electricity - Ukrenergo

MOSCOW. Nov 10 (Interfax) - Polish power system operator PSE provided emergency assistance to Ukraine on Thursday, November 9, by purchasing excess electricity produced by renewable energy facilities.

"In order to maintain the balance between consumption and production and to ensure the operational safety of the energy system, Polish power system operator PSE extended emergency assistance during three daytime hours, urgently buying 510 MWh of surplus Ukrainian electricity," Ukrainian media outlets said, citing Ukrenergo's statement circulated on social media.

PSE provided such emergency assistance to Ukrenergo on October 31, November 6 and November 7, 2023.

On November 9, 3,482 MWh of electricity was exported from Ukraine to Slovakia, Romania and Moldova in the night hours of the daily low consumption and the daytime hours of renewable energy facilities' intensive functioning, with a peak capacity of up to 367 MW in some hours, Ukrenergo said.

A total of 1,365 MWh of electricity is imported from Slovakia and Romania in the morning and evening hours of peak consumption, with a peak capacity of up to 250 MW in some hours.
