Ukraine's Kernel plants winter wheat on 27% of land
MOSCOW. Nov 10 (Interfax) - Kernel, one of Ukraine's largest agribusiness groups planted winter wheat on 27% of its land holdings in 2023, Ukrainian media reported, citing a statement from the company.
"We are using precision agriculture technology in order to increase the efficiency of planting and minimize the likelihood of human error. This ultimately increases yields and reduces production costs," the company said.
It was reported earlier that Kernel planted winter wheat on 60,700 hectares in 2022, which amounted to 17% of its land.
Kernel is one of Ukraine's largest producers of bottled vegetable oil and a major producer and exporter of sunflower oil. The group also cultivates and sells other agricultural products. Kernel's principal shareholder is Ukrainian businessman Andrei Verevsky.
