Ukrainian electric cars market continues to grow - Ukravtoprom

MOSCOW. Nov 9 (Interfax) - Nearly 28,700 electric vehicles were registered for the first time in Ukraine in January-October 2023, a 2.8-fold increase year-on-year, while the share of new such vehicles grew from 16% to 20%, Ukrainian media outlets said, citing a statement circulated by the Ukravtoprom association on social media.

The number of registrations went up by 4.5% to 4,493 electric vehicles, among them 861 near and 3,632 preowned ones, in October month-on-month, and grew by 2.8-fold year-on-year, the association said.

Cars (4,417, including 851 new and 3,566 preowned ones) continue to account for the bulk of registrations. Seventy-six commercial electric vehicles, among them only ten new ones, were registered.

The top five new electric cars on the Ukrainian market in October were Volkswagen ID.4 (366 vehicles) Toyota BZ4X (65), Honda E (63), Volkswagen ID.6 (44), and AUDI Q4 e-tron (24).

The top five preowned electric cars were Nissan Leaf (573), Tesla Model 3 (442), Volkswagen e-Golf (405), Tesla Model Y (255), and Renault Zoe (201).

As reported, Ukrainians bought 13,600 electric vehicles, both new and preowned, in 2022, a 1.5-fold rise from the year before, Ukravtoprom said. The share of new cars stood at 17% in 2022, up from 14% in 2021.
