Kazakh president counts on Russia in joint rational use of water resources
ASTANA. Nov 9 (Interfax) - Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is hopeful that Kazakhstan's partnership with Russia will guarantee the joint rational use of water resources.
"A complex problem like this one [the predicted shortage of water resources] cannot be resolved through the efforts of only one country. It is necessary to tackle this issue jointly, maintaining a reasonable balance," Tokayev said at a Kazakh-Russian interregional forum.
"And, taking advantage of this occasion, I express hope that our relations of strategic partnership with Russia will become the guarantee of a balanced approach to the joint rational use of water resources in the interests of the peoples of both countries," he said.
