Number of ships at Danube ports declines in Ukraine - Kiev

MOSCOW. Nov 7 (Interfax) - The number of ships in the Izmail port in the Odessa region fell 1.7 times to 72 on Monday, while two more ships are expected to arrive, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the data of the MarineTraffic monitoring application.

Additionally, there were nine vessels in the Reni port in the Odessa region on that day against 25 last week. One more vessel is expected to arrive.

As reported, the ports of Greater Odessa have partially resumed operations after the Black Sea Grain Initiative was terminated. In total, 63 ships have arrived at the ports of Greater Odessa via a temporary corridor, while 36 ships have left them since September 16, head of the Monitoring Group of the Institute of Black Sea Strategic Studies Andrei Klimenko said.

Over the past week, the average daily rate of unloading grain carriages in the ports of Greater Odessa rose by 2.1 times, or by 419 carriages per day to 798, Ukrainian Railways said in its weekly report on Monday. During the past week, the daily unloading rate in the Black Sea ports ranged from 750 to 970 carriages per day.

As of November 6, the number of grain carriages traveling to the ports of Greater Odessa increased 20.8%, or by 839 carriages up to 4.871.

On the contrary, the line of grain carriages heading to the Izmail port has shortened 87.73%, or by 815 carriages to 929. The average daily rate of unloading carriages carrying grain in this port went up 4.12%, or by seven carriages per day to 177 carriages per day.
