Belarus expects to receive around 1.3 bln Russian rubles in reverse excise tax on oil in 2023

MINSK. Nov 7 (Interfax) - Belarus is counting on receiving around 1.3 billion Russian rubles in reverse excise tax on oil in 2023, the country's Finance Minister Yury Seliverstov said in a statement.

"For now, this [the agreement between Belarus and Russia on the reverse excise tax on oil] is tied to the cost of oil in a specific way. For this year, we think that it will be around 1.3 billion Russian rubles," Seliverstov said on Belarus 1 state TV.

"In general, a hefty amount that comes to us also assists our oil refineries to be on equal terms with Russian producers of petroleum products," Seliverstov emphasized.

Seliverstov also recalled that Belarusian oil refineries expect next year to receive 2.1 billion Russian rubles in reverse excise tax on oil. This figure was previously announced in the country's parliament.
